I am pleased to welcome you to the CWU website. The university is located at Hongseong, the west coastline region of Korea with a beautiful habitat for migrant birds and the seat of the provincial government of Chungcheongnam-do.

As the university of the mid-west part of Korea, we have dedicated ourselves to instilling motivations to improve skills in students and at the same time developing their potential for their future. We offer a pleasent pine-tree campus which is equipped with facilities for students’ convenience, such as the newly-opened administrative building, the artificial turf sports field, and the outdoor performance hall. The university has in-campus dormitories with the state-of-the-art facilities which provide students with comfortable residency based on the efficient operating system, including off-campus dormitories. In addition, for commuting students from local areas including Seoul metropolitan areas, the university runs 40 regular buses.

Most of all, it is the pride of this university as well as the result of our faculty’s efforts to place the university in 35th place (in 2010) in the percentage of employment among the 4-year universities of the nation and in 8th (in 2010) in the papers performances among the universities of the nation. As a part of our goal to approach the local community, the university has maintained industry-university cooperation programs with many local public and private sectors. In addition, the second campus of CWU in Incheon was authorized and we are carrying out this project step by step.

To meet the needs of this age of globalization, the university has had academic exchange programs such as the dual degree(2+2) and credit accreditation(3+1) programs for students with 44 sister universities. Other exchange programs, such as the mutual exchange of professors for teaching foreign languages and graduate students for Master’s degrees, are actively in progress.
